26-May-2015 Visual Impact a Success for Roland DG
Textiles, Digital Signage and Creative Applications Make Visual Impact a Success for Roland DG.
Sydney, Australia, May 26, 2015 - Leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and 3D devices Roland DG Australia was proud to be part of another successful Visual Impact Expo last week at Homebush. As Platinum sponsor, Roland DG showcased a number of new products and solutions, continued the 'Print for Purpose' initiative, and provided inspiration to visitors with several dedicated application displays.
Being the first showing in Australia, the new Roland Texart Dye sublimation solution, was one of the most popular products at the show, with some people coming to the trade show specifically to see this exciting new release.
The Texart RT-640 is a 3rd generation Roland sublimation printer, and combined with the all new Texart ink and Texart CS-64 Heat Transfer Calendar unit, offers a complete solution. Built on legendary Roland technology, backed by a comprehensive 3 year warranty, and also OEKO-TEX® Class I Certified Texart ink, the Roland Texart is the perfect solution for anyone looking to get into dye sublimation.
Another major feature on the Roland DG stand were the application displays, which showcased a wide range of samples focused on Retail, Personalisation and Interiors. All samples were printed using Roland eco-solvent, dye sublimation and UV inkjet technologies, demonstrating the vast possibilities achievable, and providing inspiration for Roland users to apply to their business.
With major growth in the digital signage market, Roland DG also displayed a number of digital solutions to cater for this market including the popular Roland DisplayStudio digital signage solution, and the all new CL!CK Content Creator. The trade show was a pre-release showing of the CL!CK Content Creator, an exciting new software solution that makes the process of creating content for digital signage a breeze.
Among the new releases was the launch of RolandPrintStudio, a feature-packed RIP software for Mac OS X, creating much excitement for those loyal Mac and Roland users.
‘Print for Purpose’ was once again taking place on the Roland Stand. Pioneered by Roland DG, this initiative seeks to reduce the wastage of demo print at trade shows and rather give this print to a worthy organisation. Starlight Children’s Foundation was the focus for Roland DG at this show, with a range of collateral being printed to help promote their current campaigns.
Roland DG also would like to congratulate Bear Designs who won the NSW state final of the ASGA Wrap Master Challenge. Visit www.wrapmasterchallenge.org.au for more information and dates for the next rounds coming up this year.

25-May-2015 Roland DG Achieves OEKO-TEX® Certification
Roland DG Textile Decorating Technology Achieves OEKO-TEX® Class I Certification
Sydney, Australia, May 25, 2015 – Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters worldwide, announced today that the company’s dye sublimation transfer technology has achieved certification of OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, product class I. The certification has been given for inkjet printing on polyester fabric with the company’s Texart ink, which is used for the Texart RT-640, the company’s latest dye sublimation transfer printer.
OEKO-TEX® is an independent certification system for testing the safety of textile materials and chemicals at every stage of production from raw materials to end products. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is divided into four classes based on human ecological requirements, with class I which ensures that printed textile items are safe for babies and toddlers being the most difficult to achieve. Growing awareness among customers has fostered the rise in popularity of the OEKO-TEX® label.
“We are very pleased that the Nissenken Quality Evaluation Center has awarded our dye sublimation printing technology the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, product class I,” Yuko Maeda, division president of digital printing, market development for Roland DG said, “We developed Texart ink and the RT-640 for a wide range of textile decoration applications, including sports and fashion apparel, curtains and other interior décor as well as promotional goods and personalised gifts. The OEKO-TEX® certification provides not only an endorsement for our efforts to pursue environmentally-safe digital printing, but provides an important decision-making tool for our customers to better meet the needs of end users.”
Roland DG launched Texart ink and the RT-640 in October, 2014. Maeda said the RT-640 incorporates a host of technological advancements that optimize sublimation transfer output while minimising running costs. “One of the RT-640’s major innovations is our new ink which is available in both four (CMYK) and eight color versions (CMYK plus Light Cyan, Light Magenta, Orange and Violet). Previously, colors printed on sublimated fabrics could look faded with dull blacks, missing grays and fuzzy details. The RT-640’s variable droplet technology in combination with Texart ink displays bold, vibrant colors and rich velvety blacks, as well as subtle gradations and fine details.”
The Texart RT-640 was on display at the recent Visual Impact trade show in Sydney, and will be showcased at various trade shows throughout 2015.
Sydney, Australia, 29 April, 2015 - Following on from the global release of the Texart RT-640 dye sublimation printer in late 2014, Roland DG Australia, a leading worldwide manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters, has today announced the launch of their complete Texart sublimation solution, including the new Texart CS-64 Calender unit.
With advanced print control technology available in either four or eight-colour configurations, the RT-640 delivers vibrant colours, rich blacks, subtle gradations and remarkably fine details, all backed by a comprehensive 3 year warranty. The included take-up unit, integrated bulk ink system, premium ErgoSoft Roland Edition Sublimation RIP, plus the optional Texart CS-64 heat transfer calender unit completes the package.
Roland's 3rd generation SBL3 dye-sublimation ink delivers bold, vibrant colour, deep, rich blacks, subtle gradations and remarkably fine details. In four-colour (CMYK) mode, Texart ink produces bright colours with velvety blacks, improved grey scale and high quality, detailed output. In eight-colour (CMYKLcLmOrVi) mode, the addition of Orange and Violet ink produces an increased colour gamut with exceptional reds and oranges and deep blues and purples while Light Cyan and Light Magenta provide subtle gradations and beautiful skin tones.
Roland's RT-640 is equipped with a bulk ink system that uses airtight-sealed one litre pouches. When in four-colour mode, the system provides two litres per colour. The proprietary Roland Ink Switching System* automatically switches to the backup ink pouch when the primary pouch runs out. Further expediting production, you can replace an empty pouch without stopping the printer.
ErgoSoft Roland Edition was developed especially for Roland by ErgoSoft, the premier RIP provider in the textile market. Support for both four-colour and eight-colour printing is provided and it includes numerous features especially for digital textile production that combine excellent high-speed RIP throughput and image quality.
The new Texart CS-64 calender unit is the perfect finishing partner for Roland DG’s Texart RT-640. The CS-64 transfers sublimation print produced by the RT-640 at high speed onto a variety of polyester-based materials used for flags, banners, soft signage, fabric for fashion, sports apparel and many other promotional applications. Built to meet high production demands and designed for ease of use, the CS-64 appeals to both seasoned professionals and companies new to the dye sublimation print process.
Simple to use, the control panel of the CS-64 can be mastered in seconds. Loading and unloading materials is equally straight forward. The CS-64 uses a precision roller feed system and digitally regulated, infra-red heat to transfer dye sublimation print onto fabrics. With practical speeds of 40m²/hr and the option of an in-feed table, the CS-64 has the versatility to handle large roll volumes and small pre-cut fabric jobs with equal finesse.
