Roland DG Care - Just a 'Fluffy' Marketing Ploy?

Posted on Thursday, June 09, 2011

If you have been in the Australian Sign & Display industry for a few years, or you keep up with the industry news and magazines, then it's likely that you have heard of 'Roland DG Care'. Roland DG Australia launched Roland DG Care in 2008 as an official branding for our after sales program, symbolised by a pink heart shaped logo. Now for the average Australian Sigine or print production person, this name and logo could easily appear to be a fluffy marketing strategy that doesn't actually deliver anything but warm fuzzies for people...!

While 'warm fuzzies' are nice, this isn't what Roland DG Care was setup to deliver! So what exactly is Roland DG Care if not a fluffy marketing strategy?? We could give you the official line that it is a 'complete range of premium services to help people throughout the lifecycle of their experience with Roland DG', but that might sound a bit to fluffy! So rather, let's have a look at where the rubber hits the road and see how Roland DG Care actually impacts Roland users and others...

Let's start with Training. Roland Academy helps people to get the most out of their Roland device, meaning that students will be more productive and come back with many new skills to offer to their clients. Over 70 people have benefited from Roland Academy over the last 12 months and most find that they learn alot more than they expected! Check out some testimonies over on the Roland Academy webpage.

Another part of our training offering is RolandClinic. This program has helped many people, including non-Roland users, with FREE advice, tips & tricks to help with their everyday workflows. We run this free service at most trade shows and also each Friday at our Sydney office. There's nothing too 'fluffy' about free advice...

The rubber really hits the road when it comes to money and in particular helping people to get the equipment they need. Through the Roland Rental program, a simple and fast finance option, we have helped over 150 businesses to get the latest equipment faster, allowing them to move their business forward and achieve their goals.

We have just spent a ton of time and money on upgrading The Creative Center in both Sydney and Melbourne. The aim of all this effort is ultimately to create a hub of innovation and creativity to show what is possible with a Roland and to inspire people to achieve more with their own Roland device. The center has helped many people to see new and innovative solutions and applications that they never dreamed could be done on a Roland and hopefully opened up new opportunities for their own business.

The environment is important to Roland DG - is this just greenwashing you might ask? Check out the Annual Environmental Report put out by Roland DG Japan to decide for yourself. Roland DG Australia has also recycled over 1612kgs of Roland Ink cartridges over the last few years... that's practical action to help our environment, not fluffy promises!

We could go on about our Warranty programs that protect your investment, or the Value Up programs which deliver free performance upgrades to your equipment, but I think we've said enough for now to hopefully convince you that Roland DG Care is more than a fluffy marketing strategy... check out the Roland DG Care website to find out more.

We'd love to know what you think - is it just a fluffy marketing strategy or has it somehow benefited you as a Roland user or helped you in your purchasing decision? Leave a comment below...
